As www.thedailynewsonline.com announces, Chloe, the new film by the well-known Canadian filmmaker, Atom Egoyan had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, September 13.
The work, inspired by the French drama Nathalie, tells the story of the prostitute Chloe (Amanda Seyfried in the title role), whom the character of Julianne Moore, the doctor hires to try to seduce her university music professor husband (played by Liam Neeson) to test his fidelity. Based on the film reviews from TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) website, it appears that the two women share more than simply a man.
www.vanityfair.com writes: “Toronto audiences gripped their elbow rests as Seyfried upped the sapphic ante in Chloe, engaging in a sultry hotel-room romp with Julianne Moore.”
Amanda Seyfried was attending the festival also for her another quite emotional role, which she played with Megan Fox in the film Jennifer’s Body.
Lesbian themes is definitely not alien to Julianne Moore as well, at least on film. Besides her role of a repressed homosexual homemaker in The Hours, she is also going to be playing Annette Benning’s partner in the upcoming film The Kids Are Alright as well as a lesbian novelist in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.
