According to www.afterellen.com, Showtime TV channel has greenlit a reality TV version of its hit lesbian drama - The L Word, which will be screened as nine episodes.

The executive producer of The L Word, Ilene Chaiken will executive produce The Real L Word: Los Angeles along with the heads of Magical Elves, Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth.

The new reality series will follow six lesbians in Los Angeles as they go about their lives. The casting for the show has not yet been completed.

“Even though we concluded our sixth season of The L Word on Showtime this past March,” Chaiken explained to www.variety.com, “I believe we are not nearly finished telling our L Word stories.”

The Real L Word: Los Angeles is slated to debut sometime in 2010.
