Knowing her diplomatic passport would grant her entry into the country, she boarded a plane to India, traveled immediately to the hospital, and spent the next several days caring for the infants until a relative could arrive.

She did not alert Indian authorities in advance, and staff at the hospital assumed the future Queen of Norway was just a nanny.
