As The Jamaica Star informs, on Friday, October 30, residents of the McGregor Gully community in East Kingston (the capital of the Jamaican island) proclaimed “Gay Eradication Day”. Residents say that they will be “taking action” now “as a two-week notice given to all gays and lesbians to flee the community expired.”

According to the same source, about two weeks ago “angry” residents declared that “they were fed up with seeing the activities of several homosexuals in their community, and ordered all gays to leave the territory by October 30, or suffer the consequences.” (!)

Some residents who admitted to The Jamaica Star that they are a part of the “gay clearing out scheme” “explained” that “it all is being done to protect their families and the community on a whole.”

As it appears, “the main problem” of the McGregor Gully community residents according to them, “is a local hangout that is frequented by lesbians who kiss, hug, and even touch each other.” (!)

As www.jamaica-star.com comments about, the community’s anger is directed mostly at those lesbians, though any gay men who reside in the area are also expected to leave. The Gully residents say they will not stop until their community is “gay free” and are not afraid of resorting to extreme measures, though they have not explicitly said what those measures might be.
